A job fair providing over 2,000 positions in the automobile industry opened on Feb 19 at the Huibo Talent Market in Liangjiang New Area, according to Chongqing Daily.

More than 50 world famous auto companies and auto parts manufacturers joined the job fair, including Beijing Hyundai, DFM Auto and Chang’an Ford Automobile, providing up to 80 percent of middle-ranking and senior positions for skilled technicians and workers.

The organizers later revealed that the job fair had attracted around 4,000 jobseekers from all over the country.

In an effort to lure more talent, the Liangjiang New Area has rolled out a series of preferential policies. For instance, highly-skilled workers who settle in Liangjiang can receive an allowance of up to 2 million yuan ($201,000). And financial support up to a maximum of 3 million yuan ($436,000) will be given to companies that establish scientific research platforms. For those who start businesses in Liangjiang, the government will offer financial support of up to 1 million yuan ($145,000).
