Chongqing will open its first direct flight to Los Angeles on March 21, according to Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport.
The direct flight will depart twice a week and will be operated using a Boeing 787 Dreamliner aircraft owned by Hainan Airlines. The flight will take around 13 hours.
The flight is scheduled to take off from Chongqing at 9:25pm on Tuesday and Saturday, and will arrive in Los Angeles at 8pm local time. It departs Los Angeles at 12:45am local time on Wednesday and Sunday, and arrives in Chongqing at 6:30am.
Round-trip tickets for economy class seats start at a promotional price of 1,300 yuan ($189), not including taxes. Passengers traveling in economy class can carry up to 23 kilograms of luggage included in their fare.
Favorable prices are available for visitors in other cities including Beijing, Guangzhou and Changsha who choose to travel to Los Angeles via Chongqing.
