Liangjiang Aviation Industry Investment Group signed a cooperation agreement with Chongqing Yuxiang Aviation Flight Training Co Ltd on April 1 to build an aviation flight simulator industrial base in Liangjiang New Area.

The base is a vital part of 60 key projects inked at the launch ceremony of Chongqing Pilot Free Trade Zone, one of China’s seven newly-approved free trade zones.

Both sides will speed up the construction of the Chongqing CCAR-142 flight training center and build the first simulated flight training base for civil aviation aircrews in Chongqing by the end of this June.

Efforts will be made to innovate the training model for civil aviation to cultivate new talent and carry out research and development.

The two companies will build an overall strategic cooperation relationship to boost air transportation and general aviation in Liangjiang New Area.

Chongqing Yuxiang Aviation Flight Training Co Ltd has put two A320 full flight simulators into operation at its base in Liangjiang’s Longxing Industrial Park with an investment of nearly 300 million yuan ($43.5 million). Up to now, the company has trained more than 1,000 crew members for several airline companies in Chongqing and achieved operating revenues of 10 million yuan.

By 2020, Chongqing will establish a network for general aviation airports that covers the entire municipality and establishes a sound general aviation supporting system. It will be an industry cluster that combines aircraft R&D, education and training and operation safeguards. It is projected to achieve a production value of over 30 billion yuan by the end of the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-20).
