Work on road upgrades in Liangjiang New Area is entering its final stages and ,sprucing up the area to a further degree.

The 600,000-square-meter project, initiated in 2016, will improve Yihengxian Road with an investment of over 100 million yuan ($14.5 million).

Covering 14.4 kilometers of roadway, the construction includes earthworks, tree-planting and landscaping on tunnels and interchanges along the road.

Yihengxian Road, opened at the end of 2014, connects the Longsheng Planning Area in Liangjiang and the Chongqing central area.

Once completed, the Longsheng Planning Area will attract a lot more investment from home and abroad, greatly boosting the economy, according to Longxing Industrial Development Zone, the host of the project.

“The blooming flowers and trees along the road make me feel like walking in the forest,” said a driver passing by the road.

“An additional investment of over 10 million yuan has been devoted this year to solving emerging problems and easing residents’ concerns,” said Shou Anming, vice-general manager of Longxing Group, a company in charge of construction and investment in Longxing Industrial Development Zone.
