The Liangjiang New Area has made plans to cooperate with SGS Group, the world’s leading company focusing on inspection, verification, testing and certification.
Li Guangrong, deputy director of Liangjiang New Area administrative committee, met with Gu Xiaoyu, deputy general manager of SGS-CSTC China on April 26, to discuss details of their cooperation.
SGS-CSTC (China Software Testing Center) is a joint venture between Switzerland-based SGS Group and the former China Standard Technology Development Corp, which specialized in providing inspection, verification, testing and certification services. SGS-CSTC currently has offices in over 140 countries.
Aiming to sharpen the Liangjiang New Area’s competitive edge, SGS-CSTC will assist the new area to reach the newest standards of product quality, social responsibility and energy conservation capacity.
According to the meeting, the Chongqing branch of SGS has been relocated to the industrial park in Liangjiang, and is reaching out for qualification authentication from the local market supervision bureau.
Once completed in May, it will be the first inspection of the local bureau, and the first one issued to a foreign-funded inspection company.
Aside from SGS, Liangjiang is also seeking dialogues with German inspection agency TUV, and the France-based quality inspection firm Bureau Veritas.
In recent years, SGS-CSTC has served more than 100,000 enterprises and public institutes in China, including over 2000 in Chongqing last year.
