Chongqing’s Liangjiang New Area carried out skill training sessions for rural residents who have lost their sources of income due to land expropriations whice took place a few days ago.
The management committee of Liangjiang New Area, along with working stations from the Yufu, Longxing and Shuitu industrial parks, organized the activities to help those who must now transfer their household registration from an agricultural to a non-agricultural status to adapt to urban employment.
Specialists arranged by Liangjiang Human Resources Company gave theoretical and practical lectures in the fields of cosmetology and elderly healthcare.
“We have established a long-term partnership with several companies to provide professional training and job opportunities for residents,” said an official from Liangjiang Human Resources Co.
Companies in the industrial parks will hire outstanding trainees upon the completion of their training, allowing them to secure jobs close to their new homes, while also solving problems caused by the current labor shortage in the region.
It is estimated that over 20 training sessions have been held for 1,000 residents during the first quarter of 2017.
