Chongqing auto fair revs up sales

The 2017 China Chongqing International Auto Industry Fair yielded 4 billion yuan ($600 million) in sales in its first four days from June 8 to 11.

A total of 17,489 vehicles have so far been sold at the event which Iis being held at the Yuelai International Convention Center in Liangjiang New Area until June 14.

German automobile manufacturers Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi have sold the most so far at 800, 700, and 500 respectively.

Italian marque Alfa Romeo debuted its Stelvio SUV, attracting 10 buyers, with its Guilia sedan selling 20 so far.

Domestic automobile brand Chang'an Automobile has sold 500 vehicles with Geely Auto selling almost 600 with three days to go at the fair.
