A smart and comprehensive control system aiding urban management will serve 2.4 million residents in Liangjiang New Area, Chongqing Liangjiang Smart City Investment and Development Co Ltd announced on June 18.

Chengguan, the local urban management and security agency, faces a difficult job of managing the urban area in a smart and efficient way and this system will hopefully help to alleviate pressures.

The smart system is comprised of more than 20 sub-systems, including intelligent street lights, a parking guidance system, the inspection of manhole covers and the maintenance of ponds.

The company has established more than 30,000 intelligent sensors across Liangjiang New Area, monitoring the operation status of urban infrastructures across the area.

Real-time data collected by sensors located will be updated on a huge display wall, which consists of 33 screens and will provide data and analytics.

The area’s civil administration department can receive advanced warning of potential issues and proactively solve problems through cloud computing.

The platform will also help local management departments to improve their management efficiency and promote the level of service offered.
