This year's China Go Culture Summit and World Chinese Go Culture Festival will open in Chongqing's Liangjiang International Movie City from Dec 1 to 4, press announced on July 23.
The event will organize several national and worldwide competitions for professional and amateur Go players, including the National Amateur Go Competition and National Go Master Invitational Tournament.

A China Go Culture Seminar, Go Culture Picture Exhibition and a Go carnival will also be offered to the public during the event.

Ke Ping, president of the Chongqing Chess Institute, said this year's summit will promote the development of Chinese Go culture, especially popularizing the game in Chongqing.
The Chongqing Municipal Culture Commission predicts that the added value of Chongqing's culture industry will reach up to 100 billion yuan ($14.8 billion) by 2020.
