Eight environmental experts and academicians from the Chinese Academy of Engineering gathered at the Chongqing International Convention Center to offer advice on the Liangjiang New Area's (LNA) green development on Sept 17, celebrating the opening of the Chongqing Huayue Institute of Ecological Environment Engineering.

Liu Yanhua: take bold action

Liu Yanhua, head of the National Climate Change Experts Committee, said, "LNA should take bold actions with capital, mechanisms and thoughts to insure local green development."

"Energy is the key in the environmental protection industry and Liangjiang should pay attention to new energy technologies and emerging industries."

Liu also suggested that Liangjiang create services for market expansion and patent transfer. "At present Liangjiang's scientific innovation services lag behind eastern coastal cities. Liangjiang should set up its own team to aim for the latest service models and have a long-term vision for production and operation."
