Avon to support Liangjiang automotive industry

Avon Automotive Components (Chongqing) Co Ltd was officially opened in the Liangjiang New Area (LNA) on Sept 18.

With a total investment of $21.14 million, Avon Automotive will supply Chang'an Ford (Chongqing) with rubber pipe automotive systems components, including coolant lines, fuel lines and tubing for air conditioners.

The 1.3-hectare plant, located at LNA's Lijia Industrial Park, is expected to achieve an annual production value of 400 million yuan ($60.8 million) in its first year, and reach up to 600 million yuan by 2020.

Headquartered in France, Avon Automotive is a leading international supplier of automotive components with 40 plants and offices in 20 countries. Avon's Chongqing factory is the company's first in China. The company is now turning to develop Asian markets, China in particular.

According to the LNA industrial bureau, the area has produced a total of 1.19 million motor vehicles and the production value of local automotive industry has reached 143.6 billion yuan, accounting for 50.7 percent of Chongqing's market.
