Chinese entertainment company Perfect World displayed its cartoon brands and licensed products at the 11th China Licensing Expo held in Shanghai on Oct 18-20.
As the largest professional licensing platform in Asia, this year’s China Licensing Expo (CLE) drew more than 200 companies from home and abroad exhibiting some 1,000 intellectual property (IP)-protected cartoon, entertainment and sports products.
The Chonging-based Perfect World exhibited its latest computer games and cartoon movies during the event, hoping to seek cooperation opportunities with other companies and even other industries.
"A famous IP has great potential to be integrated with other industries to achieve the largest value," said a manager of Perfect World. The company has already cooperated with producers of toys, cosmetics, clothes and digital products.
The company also has ambitious goals to launch more projects related to the funding, production and distribution of films, and online game development. It has produced more than 50 films and television works, and won more than 70 professional awards.
Liangjiang New Area has been shifting its focus from the manufacturing industry to the tertiary industry in recent years and has put particular emphasis on the cultural industry.
The area will develop the tourism, film and internet industries to build Chongqing into a cultural and recreational travel destination.
