The central area of Chongqing Lijia International Commercial & Tourist Eco-town was put into construction on Nov 20, as an effort to improve the modern commerce of Liangjiang New Area.
Covering a total area of 180,000 square meters, the project will integrate commercial areas with improved urban infrastructures including waterside parks, schools, hospitals, residential areas and office buildings.
The business area is projected to introduce more than 50 world leading flagship stores, over 100 international leading brands and 500 renowned Chinese brands to serve the locals living in the 20 kilometers proximity of the area.

Yang Lijie, deputy director of Liangjiang New Area's administrative committee, said that the project is one of Liangjiang New Area's key constructions during its 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-20) to further improve urban facilities and function and accelerate the building of Lijiang as an international commercial and tourist eco-town.
Lijia business areas enjoy great eco-environment with high quality parks surrounding the area. Urban tourism is another highlight of its construction. Happy Valley themed park and Maya Beach Park are also now open for the tourists.

John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
