Another attraction in Liangjiang New Area, Chongqing Garden Expo Park, drew in 30,000 visitors on New Year's Day alone to watch the debut of its light show. The show features a total of 51 sets of lights, the result of a month's worth of meticulous, pain-staking work from a group of 110 talented artisans.
The light show, organized by Chongqing Daily Media Group and Chongqing Garden Expo, officially started on Jan 1 to welcome the upcoming Chinese Spring Festival.
The "auspicious dog praying for luck" in the main square is the highlight of the show, as he blesses each visitor with good tidings and a happy New Year. His warm red glow and friendly façade perfectly encapsulate the joy of the Spring Festival.
