Chongqing Chang'an Automobile Co Ltd signed a cooperative agreement with China Mobile Chongqing Company, China Mobile IoT Company and Huawei on Jan 11 to jointly develop LTE-V and 5G Internet of Vehicles.

The cooperation aims to promote the integration of "vehicle +" and "Internet +". The four companies will build V2X (vehicle to everything) experimental area, develop smart internet terminal and 4G Internet of Vehicles and explore technologies of LTE-V and 5G Internet of vehicles.
After the V2X experimental area is built, it will strengthen the intelligent coordination between vehicles and roads, between vehicles and vehicles and between vehicles and people. Further development of technologies in 4G and 5G Internet of Vehicles will also improve the efficiency and promote the development of Internet of vehicles.
In this cooperation, the four companies will join together and use each other's advantages to cultivate a new growth point.
Chang'an automobile group has established research centers with different focusses across the world, including Chongqing, Beijing, Hebei, Hefei, Italy's Turin, Japan's Yokohama, UK's Birmingham, and US's Detroit and Silicon Valley. The company's R & D capacity has ranked first in China's auto industry for the eight consecutive years.
Liangjiang New Area is pushing forward with innovation-driven development action plan led by big data and with the construction of smart city. Chang'an automobile group is actively seeking cooperation with other companies to promote its transformation from traditional products to smart and new energy products.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
