Local media reported on Feb 2 that the Liangjiang New Area's administrative committee has joined with the Chongqing Free Trade Zone, Shanghai Waigaoqiao International Trade Operation Center Co, Deep Blue eCOM Cross Border Trade Company and LJML Logistics Company to jointly build a cross-border commerce platform.
The project will combine internet with foreign trade and construct infrastructures such as cross-border commerce, a big data platform, a big data financial platform, and an import and export trade center in the Chongqing Free Trade Zone to better serve international trade in the Liangjiang New Area.
"The platform will offer comprehensive one-stop services including custom clearance, logistics, financing, tax reimbursement and settlement of exchange to assist various businesses in international trade," said He Guoguang, general manager of Shanghai Waigaoqiao International Trade Operation Center Co.
In addition, the project will reconfigure the foreign trade industry chain in Liangjiang through big data analysis. It will help small and middle enterprises break the bottleneck in talents, markets and funding and provide applicable experiences for development of foreign trade in inland cities.
The signing of the contract will strengthen the integration of the digital and real economies and promote economic development.
After years' of development, Liangjiang's digital economy has begun to take shape. The gross value of production in the Liangjiang Digital Economy Industrial Park was estimated to be around 25.2 billion yuan ($3.99 billion) in 2017, and the gross value of production of the digital economy industry was estimated to be 11.5 billion yuan.
