10 flower-themed activities you cannot miss in LNA

The annual flower season activity of Chongqing Garden Expo Park will start on Mar 8.

Camellias, azaleas, yulan, Michelia figo and Prunus simonii have all blossomed in the park. Coming here to admire the beauty of flowers is on the must-do list for many citizens in spring.

"This year, we introduced 100,000 tulips and 120,000 corn poppies," said an organizer of the activity. The tulip and corn poppy show, "the Charm of Spring", will open to the public on Mar 8. The citizens will be able to enjoy five different types and colors of tulips, an eye-opening and delightful experience.

Between the end of March and the middle ten days of April, around 1,000 sakura (cherry blossom trees) will be in full bloom in Huicui garden. Surrounded by the flowers, tourists will feel enchanted by the romantic atmosphere.

Chongqing Garden Expo Park will launch other activities like pinwheel holidays and matchmaking activity. Around 100,000 hand-made pinwheels and wind chimes will be hung in various squares from March 16.

In addition, concerts will be held from 13:30 to 15:00 every Saturday in Dongmen lawn, Art Square and the outdoor theater. The organizer invited bands to perform for visitors:"They could simply lie on the lawn and enjoy the music".

The activities will last till May 1, and admission tickets will remain at 20 yuan ($3.16) per person. Citizens can take bus lines 559/575/633/676/883/965 and metro line 3 or 5.
