Construction work on Baiyun Mountain Park, located in Lijia district of Liangjiang New Area, has been completed and the attraction is now open to the public, according to local media on Mar 23.

With a total area of 1,192 mu (79 hectares), Baiyun Mountain Park has been designed as a flower-themed park, with the aim of promoting conservation.

The park offers areas to rest and admire different kinds of flowers, as well as facilities to play different sports.

"Baiyun Mountain Park has a proper layout and meticulous design. Hopefully it will be a hotspot for flower-watching in Chongqing," said a manager at a landscape center in Liangjiang New Area.

Baiyun Lake Park and Baiyun Village Park, adjacent to Baiyun Mountain Park, are both currently under construction. Upon their completion, it is hoped that the area will become known for its scenery and environment, with plans to eventually become "a city of one hundred parks".
