The Chongqing Municipal Commission of Economy and Information Technology and the Liangjiang New Area administrative committee signed an investment agreement with Tsinghua Unigroup on March 27.

The signing ceremony brought their strategic cooperation to a new stage of all-around implementation. It took a mere 43 days to go from negotiations to operations, a new record for launching large projects in Chongqing.

The project will forge an ecosphere of intelligent security and artificial intelligence and develop Chongqing into a competitive research center and industry base with international competitiveness.

Tsinghua Unigroup will combine local production, education, research and applications to build a new smart city with a flourishing digital economy.

By offering cloud services for governments, industries and enterprises, Unigroup will coordinate government administration with underlying data from State-owned business to gain traction among industries and enhance innovative social administration.

As a world-class high-tech industrial giant, the company will also attract upstream and downstream enterprises to expand industrial clusters and improve service facilities to draw more top talents.

The cooperation agreement is a key step for Liangjiang New Area and Chongqing Municipality as they unfold a series of high-quality development projects.
