The 2018 Intelligent Equipment Expo of Civilian and Military Integration (IECMI) kicked off at the Yuelai International Expo Center in Liangjiang New Area of Southwest China's Chongqing Municipality on March 28.
Themed "Innovation leads development, technology guides the future", the expo will uphold and accelerate the country's civil-military integration strategy, stirring up economic development with advanced technologies.

The Ordinance Science and Research Academy of China hosted the two-day event, which attracted over 30 leading experts, renowned scholars and government officials to its inauguration.
The event, consisted of a summit forum, an equipment expo and an innovation contest, exhibited about 300 innovative products and generated many cooperation agreements.

Expo organizers said that with exceptional regional advantages, a sound industrial foundation and rich military resources, Chongqing has glowing prospects for deepening its civil-military integration.
As a platform for innovation and cooperation, the expo will not only bolster local economic growth but also gear up Chongqing's participation in the merging civilian and military sectors.

John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
