Officials from Liangjiang New Area said on April 9 that the China Smart Logistic Network (CSN)'s Chongqing project has been completed.
CSN is run by Cainiao Network, the logistics arm of e-commerce giant Alibaba, and is meant to be a platform for e-commerce logistics and warehouse storage.
Located in the Chongqing Lianglu-Cuntan Free Trade Port Area, the sub-network was backed by a full investment of about 347 million yuan ($55.12 million) and constructed by Chongqing Chuanyun IoT Tech Co Ltd.
"It is a pillar and backbone that will serve the Alibaba Foreign Trade Center and unfold business-to-business links for small and medium enterprises," said a program manager of Chongqing Chuanyun.
The platform will facilitate enterprises in various domains, including production, sales, orders, storage, delivery and decision-making. CSN can not only level up logistics efficiency, but also develop the whole business chain towards creative design and customized production.
According to the Liangjiang New Area administrative committee, the hub will ally with more e-commerce firms and gear up the transformation of old-school manufacturers, creating a brand-new textbook for the industrial ecosphere.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
