A volunteer alliance was forged in Chongqing's Liangjiang New Area on May 2 to celebrate China's Youth Day (May 4) and promote enterprise-led volunteer services.

Government officials and enterprise representatives took part in a series of events themed "building a new era with young blood".
The new alliance aims to take charge of overall volunteer affairs in the park and encourage enterprises within to undertake their responsibilities and give back to society.

"The alliance will incubate volunteer organizations, establish commonweal platforms, train enterprise staff, arrange daily services and bridge different sectors," said Fan Yu, secretary of the Liangjiang Youth Committee's working committee.
To date, over 20 enterprises have signed up for the noble course and will integrate their respective advantages to pioneer a new way of providing quality service in key domains, including environmental protection, renewable energy, public welfare and cultural inheritance.

Falling on May the Fourth (Force) every year, China's Youth Day highlights patriotism among young people and strengthens their dedication to the homeland.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
