According to local report, Chongqing will construct experimental units for 20 intelligent scenic spots this year.
Intelligent scenic spots will make use of the internet of things, cloud computing and mobile internet to realize visual management, business process optimization and intelligent operation.
These technologies allow the scenic spot to comprehensively and efficiently manage tourism safety, tourism marketing, public opinion monitoring, daily office work and traffic guidance, and provide tourism consultation, information inquiry, e-commerce and tourism experiences for tourists.
However, the construction of intelligent scenic spots has a high technological requirements which need to be adjusted to suit regional features.
Chongqing aims to promote the application of big data and cloud computing in tourism, the customization of tourism products online, omni-channel marketing of tourist products, online booking of travel services, online real-time scheduling of tourism management and free Wi-Fi in scenic spots.
Currently, an intelligent online platform for Chongqing tourism offering big data collection, integration, operation and other public services has been launched.
The realization of these functions requires local scenic spots to provide enough basic tourism data through an unobstructed channel.
In this case, all scenic spots in Chongqing can apply for the experimental units if qualified. The Chongqing Tourism Development Commission will guide all the selected applicants to improve the tourism experience, management, services and marketing via intelligent technologies.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
