The first China Smart Expo will last from Aug 23 to 25 in Chongqing. According to the Information Office of the Chongqing Municipal People's Government, the expo will hold 18 high-end meetings to promote the development of intelligent industry in Chongqing.
Among the meetings are two round-table conferences, nine high-end forums and seven professional summits which will invite domestic and international experts and entrepreneurs to discuss the development trends in big data and intelligent industry.
According to Li Dianxun, deputy mayor of Chongqing, the meetings will form a bridge between Chongqing and the rest of the world and provide new ideas for the economic transition and social governance of Chongqing.

Currently, 436 guests from politics, industry, education and research, as well as renowned companies such as Microsoft, Intel, Huawei, Alibaba, Tencent and iFLYTEK, have confirmed their attendance.
As the permanent host of the Smart China Expo, Chongqing is implementing an innovation development strategy driven by big data and intelligence. The AI (artificial intelligent) industry in Chongqing ranks number 7 in China according to a recent study.
During the first quarter of the year, digital economy related companies in Liangjiang Digital Economic Industrial Park increased by 262, bringing the total number of companies in the park to more than 3,000.
The park aims to raise its annual production value to 350 billion yuan ($51.3 billion) by 2025 and its added value to 180 billion yuan.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
