A train from the Chongqing-Xinjiang-Europe International Railway, part of the China Railway Express, arrived in Chongqing Guoyuan Port on Nov 18, marking the continuing cooperation between Guoyuan Port and Mannheim Port.
The train departed from Manheim Port, Germany, on Oct 25 carrying a cargo of auto components. It traveled 11,000 kilometers, passing through Poland, Belarus, Russia and Kazakhstan before arriving in China through Khorgos Port in Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region.
According to Chongqing Customs Office in Guoyuan Port, the office will optimize the process of customs clearance for the train, which means it will provide 24/7 customs clearance appointment services, and supplement staff members in unsupervised areas of Guoyuan Port.

When the route begins to operate on a regular basis, Chongqing Customs will further improve the customer clearance procedures to lower the cost of the CRE and provide guarantees for the development of the regional economy.
Mannheim is the second stop that Chongqing-Xingjiang-Europe International Railway has set up in Europe. The successful operation of the route will deepen the cooperation between the upper reaches of the Yangtze River represented by Chongqing and the upper reaches of the Rhine represented by Mannheim.
It will also make Chongqing the highland of opening-up in China, help it to undertake projects related to logistics, trade and intelligent manufacturing from Germany, and become a joint city of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and the Yangtze River Economic Belt.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
