An international cooperation center, ELP Cooperation International, recently settled in Chongqing Liangjiang International Cooperation Center in order to advance China's economic and cultural cooperation with Spain, Portugal and Latin America through developing markets, bilateral matchmaking and exchange activities.
ELP was built by Chongqing JRT Group, which is a comprehensive group integrating the businesses of international education, cross-border business, import and export trade and software development. It was among the first batch of enterprises to settle in Chongqing and contains both an international trade and language center.
The language center will become an examination site for the International Evaluation Service of the Spanish Language (SIELE) and Diplomas of Spanish as a Foreign Language (DELE) qualifications in order to cultivate bilingual talents.

Hu Weiwen, head of the international trade center, said Liangjiang International Cooperation Center serves as a demonstration window for Chongqing's opening up to the outside world and a significant platform for the city's international economic and trade exchanges.
He said ELP will make full use of this platform, the favorable resources of Liangjiang New Area and the language center to open the markets of Spain, Portugal and Latin American countries.
He added that, through developing business trade, ELP will promote the economic growth of Chongqing, Southwest China and even the whole nation.

Liangjiang New Area is accelerating the establishment of an international business environment, and its construction of industrial parks hosting international cooperation projects are making positive early gains.
The Sino-Singapore demonstration project and the industrial parks will carry out cooperation between China and countries such as Germany, Italy and Switzerland in the fields of manufacturing, technology research and development, trade and talent exchange.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
