A series of creative art exhibitions were held in Jinshan Ecool, an art center in Chongqing's Liangjiang New Area, on Dec 14, announcing the starting of a creative activity month in Liangjiang.
During the creative activity month, eight international exhibitions, four forums and seven creative life events, featuring a combination of art and life, will be open to the public for free.
The event also marks the founding of the first offline center for Chongqing Art Market, a leading professional online platform launched in May 2018. Over 70 local artists have used it to open online shops so far and more than 3,200 artworks are available for purchase.

The online art market plans to build one online trading platform, one offline art center and several high quality offline markets, constructing a market system that connects art resources in throughout the city.
In addition, the Yangtze River Cup Garment Design Competition for university students opened at Jinshan Ecool on Dec 14 and will last until Dec 21. Winners will be selected among 200 participants in recognition of original design work.
The competition has become the most influential annual event among fashion design universities in Chongqing.

As a former factory in an export processing zone, Jinshan Ecool has witnessed the industrial transformation of Liangjiang. With an investment of over 500 million yuan ($72.5 million), it covers an area of 130,000 square kilometers in the area's emerging business circle.
So far, 300 companies have settled in Jinshan Ecool, 80 percent of which deal with creative design, culture, art, tourism and entertainment. The annual output value of the park is expected to reach 6 billion yuan.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
