Tencent is going to build their southwest China headquarters in Liangjiang New Area, Chongqing during the third quarter of this year.

The headquarters will be located in Liangjiang Digital Economy Industrial Park with a capacity of 3,000 employers. It will become an innovation base of Tencent's smart big data products, artificial intelligence and internet of things operating system.

Tencent settled in Chongqing with an investment of 3 billion yuan ($441 million) for the first stage of its cloud computing big data center construction in 2013. It actively expanded the business scope in Chongqing and is equipped with professional teams of Qcloud, Tencent Games, customer service and information security.

Currently more than 400 employers work in Tencent's Chongqing branch and the number is estimated to reach 1,000 by the end of this year.

In 2015, Tencent established an ideas incubator in Chongqing creative space to follow the internet plus concept of applying internet and other information technology to conventional industries such as tourism, education, health care, agriculture, automobile and commerce. So far the creative space has launched 24 projects with a valuation of over 1.4 billion yuan, six of which have received investment.

Liangjiang's development in smart and digital industries proved a solid foundation for industrial transformation, and the preferential policies of business environment optimization makes Tencent confident in its future development in Liangjiang.

In the future, Tencent will strive to promote the continued digital transformation of industries and the establishment of an industrial cloud computing big data platform to promote the digital economy development in Chongqing.
