Chongqing Jiangbei International Airport recently adopted a paperless boarding system, face scanning technology, intelligent handcarts, and more to provide passengers with a more convenient travel experience.
Since last December, a paperless boarding system has been in place at the airport's domestic departure gates. This means that people can pass through the security check with just one scan of a QR code.
There are 15 self-service check-in and entry clearance channels in the T3A terminal building. By scanning their ID documents, face, and fingerprints, passengers can complete the initial inspection in just nine seconds – six times faster than manual inspection.
The airport has also introduced a system to automatically link a passenger's information with their carry-on luggage picture information and baggage screening time.
In addition, intelligent handcarts equipped with tablet computers provide a variety of free services, such as flight information, terminal navigation guidance, charging ports, and more.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
