Baishatuo Yangtze River railway bridge, a decades-old structure in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality, was officially retired from service on Tuesday. Completed in 1959, the 820-meter-long truss bridge which carries two tracks of the Chongqing-Guiyang Railway was the first bridge over the Yangtze River in Chongqing and only the second along the main stretch of the river between Yibin city and the river mouth in Shanghai.
