A total of 46 foreign government officials and experts visited Chongqing municipality and studied the experience of building the Belt and Road (B&R) Initiative from Sunday.

The officials and experts from B&R countries will investigate and exchange views on issues including urban construction, tourism and ecological protection at Chongqing University and other institutions in the municipality during the five-day visit.

"I hope to learn from their experience of urban construction and development during my visit and share it with my colleagues to better build our country after I return," said Babatunde Olalekan Augustine, a researcher from Nigeria.

"The visit aims to help participants better understand Chongqing and learn how to build the B&R Initiative together," said Lin Wei, vice-president of the University of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences.

The university has launched 43 seminars inviting more than 1,100 government officials and experts from nearly 100 developing countries to China.

The B&R Initiative, proposed by China in 2013, has grown into one of the most promising platforms for international cooperation, forging a new pathway toward inclusive globalization that delivers shared benefits for all.
