During the first three quarters of this year, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality attracted over 1,300 projects with a total investment of 1 trillion yuan ($142.34 billion).
Among all the projects, 50.3 percent were involved in the secondary industry, while 47.5 percent were involved in the tertiary industry.
In addition, 200 of the projects were above the 1 billion yuan scale, totaling 810 billion yuan and occupying 79.3 percent of the total contract amount.
Since the beginning of this year, officials of Chongqing's districts and counties have arranged investment meetings and promotions, which have contributed to Chongqing's investment attraction.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
