Chang'an Minsheng APLL Logistics Co (CMAL) from Liangjiang New Area, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality signed an agreement to co-establish an international automobile terminal company with Tianjin Port Group, First Automotive Works (FAW) Logistics Co, and Guangzhou Automobile Group Co (GAC) Business in Tianjin on Oct 29.
As the largest sea transportation collection and distribution center of automobiles in North China, Tianjin Port plays an important role in automobile imports and exports to support the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative.
The terminal company will be engaged in terminal construction, port operation, international cargo agency, shipping agency, customs declaration, labor service, automobile information consultation, logistics, vehicle inspection and maintenance, as well as car washing and exhibition service.
According to CMAL, the cooperation will help the company to lower logistics costs and upgrade the current water transportation network.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
