During the 2nd China International Import Expo (CIIE) that is being held in Shanghai from Nov 5 to 10, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality will send 32 business delegations to conduct supply and demand matchmaking events, business negotiations, as well as contract signings.
Companies involved in commerce, logistics, e-commerce, new materials, machine manufacturing, textiles, instruments, electronic information, food, finance, biotechnology, medical treatment, catering, and hotels in Chongqing will attend the expo.
Promotional meetings highlighting Chongqing's business environment will be organized. To date, 42 Fortune Global 500 companies, multinational companies, and foreign business association have confirmed their attendance.
As one of Chongqing's most representative cultures, hot pot will appear as the municipality's featured intangible cultural heritage at Chongqing's cultural exhibition area.
Chongqing signed 10 projects with a total investment of 67.4 billion yuan ($9.6 billion) at the first CIIE, and looks forward to attracting greater investment this year.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
