A delegation representing Liangjiang New Area, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality recently visited Israel to enhance exchanges on biomedicine.
During the visit, the delegation was introduced to Israel's world-renowned medical institutions and universities while promoting Liangjiang's advantages in biomedicine development.
The delegation made further arrangements with Shuki Herchcovici, founder of ShaySapir Investment, and Shay Herchcovici, president of ShaySapir Investment, to reach a cooperation intention on medical technology and medicine R&D projects.
While visiting Hebrew University of Jerusalem's 3D printing research center, the delegation shared their views on the application of 3D printing in medical treatment with the university, expressing wishes for further exploration of the application of 3D printing in Liangjiang's biomedicine industry.
The 3D printing research center is the university's first center focusing on researching 3D printing technology and components, such as its application in manufacturing robots, solar batteries, food, and even human organs.
The delegation also visited Assuta Medical Center, Israel's largest private hospital, which is staffed by over 1,500 highly qualified specialists. Both sides engaged in in-depth discussions on medical environment, scientific research, as well as related policies in China and Israel.
According to a staff member of Assuta Medical Center, Assuta looks forward to carrying out cooperation with Chongqing's medical institutions on talent cultivation, scientific research, and achievement conversion.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
