Liangjiang New Area in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality and Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ) in South Korea's Incheon signed a cooperation agreement in Incheon on Nov 11.
According to the cooperation agreement, Liangjiang and IFEZ will establish a friendly regional relationship in electronic information, high-end equipment, biomedicine, smart cities, modern service industry, technological innovation, finance, and business environment construction.
In the future, Liangjiang and IFEZ will co-organize international forums and expos, establish platforms for technological innovation and startups, as well as share experiences in promoting free trade to boost economic growth in both regions.
Overlapping in technological innovation and industrial development, Liangjiang and IFEZ hopes to provide a broader platform for companies in China and South Korea.
Liangjiang is committed to the cooperation with countries and regions involved in the Belt and Road Initiative. Through its efforts in improving its industrial carriers, service system, operation platform, supporting facilities, and international image, Liangjiang is striving to become a cluster of foreign capital, enterprises, and talents.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
