The 18th China Robot Industry Development Conference was held in Liangjiang New Area, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality on Dec 8.
Organized by the China Robot Industry Alliance (CRIA), the conference is considered a key annual event for experts to share the latest achievements of China's robotics industry, as well as promote the development of industrial, service, and special robots in the country.
During the conference, Liangjiang signed a memorandum of cooperation with CRIA to co-establish a robot hardware production base, a software R&D platform, as well as a robot and AI research institute.
The cooperation between Liangjiang and CRIA will utilize CRIA's advantages in industrial resources and technologies to bolster Liangjiang's robotics industry and lay a solid foundation for its advanced manufacturing industry.
In recent years, Liangjiang has aimed for the high-quality development of its advanced manufacturing industry by developing its robotics industry. To date, four of the world's top five robotics companies, Kawasaki, FANUC, ABB, and KUKA, have invested in Liangjiang.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
