Southwest China's Chongqing municipality and Inspur Group, one of China's information technology (IT) giants, signed an agreement to strengthen mutual assistance and deepen strategic cooperation on Dec 17.
According to the agreement, Inspur will establish western operation headquarters, industrial internet headquarters, block chain industry headquarters and a research institute in Chongqing.
The agreement will make Chongqing an information technology innovation and application industrial base in Southwest China, and enhance cooperation with Inspur on healthcare big data, big data talent cultivation, financial big data, and dedicated connectivity channels between Chongqing and Singapore.
Inspur is optimistic about Chongqing's environment, and will take the city as a key point in the group's strategic layout, said Sun Pishu, the chairman of Inspur.
In recent years, Chongqing has been striving to create an innovative ecosystem for the digital economy by constructing infrastructure for 5G, cloud computing and block chain systems. A whole industry chain integrated with research and development, manufacturing, sales and service will allow key enterprises to promote the development of small and medium-sized companies.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
