Four major logistics companies co-established an international logistics group in Southwest China's Chongqing on Dec 25, according to local officials.
The group aims to integrate the companies' logistics resources to establish a modern logistics system, which will enhance the competitiveness and influence of Chongqing's logistics industry.
The group will focus on logistics transportation, warehousing, consulting and information businesses.
It will establish three service platforms to provide international logistics services, logistics information and supply chain services.
Officials said the establishment of the group is an innovative exploration of cooperation between central enterprises, State-owned enterprises, private companies and railway bureaus.
In 2019, Chongqing opened 13 international flight routes, including nine passenger routes and four freight routes.
The new flight routes not only accelerated Chongqing's construction as an international aviation hub, but also shortened the distance between Chongqing and Europe, Japan, and Southeast Asia.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
