A tourism exhibition project was recently launched at the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) commodity exhibition and trading center in Lianglu Cuntan Free Trade Port, Liangjiang New Area, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality.
The exhibition project, which will cover an area of 5,000 square meters, will encompass international tourism exhibition and promotion, bonded tourism product trading, and outbound tourism services.
The project will include a BRI commodity exhibition and trading center and an international tourism exchange center, as well as an organizing center for major foreign affairs activities and international conferences.
The project will also construct service platforms for foreign companies, inbound and outbound tourism, and online promotion, and feature an international cultural trade base.
Chongqing Experiencing Tourist Attraction of Free Trade Area, home to the project, is China's first 4A-level tourist attraction in a free trade area.
A commercial pedestrian street is being planned to make the area a featured business circle in Southwest China.
Liangjiang strives to promote the integrated development of multiple industries by exploring intelligent tourism, and increase Chongqing's reputation as an intelligent city.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
