Liangjiang New Area in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality held a forum on May 31, on the theme of constructing a high-quality living environment.

Guests discussed the construction of Liangjiang as a hub of economic opening-up, Chongqing's intelligent city and a livable place while taking advantage of the opportunities presented by the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle.

According to Wang Zhijie, the Liangjiang Party work committee's vice-secretary and Liangjiang administrative committee's vice-director, Liangjiang is actively participating in the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, the Yangtze River Economic Belt, and the New Land-Sea Corridor, and is focusing on developing Guoyuan Port, Lianglu Cuntan Bonded Port, Jiangbeizui Financial Center, and Yuelai Exhibition Center.

Liangjiang is also accelerating the formation of advantageous industrial clusters, especially in emerging industries and the modern service industry, to improve its core competitiveness.

To improve the living environment, Liangjiang encourages the integrated development of industry, city and environment to meet the demands of people throughout their lives, including education, employment, medical services and senior care.

Representatives and experts of Chongqing Municipal Bureau of Planning and Natural Resources and real estate enterprises attended the forum and analyzed Liangjiang's opportunities within the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle.

The attendees believe that with high-end strategic, functional and industrial positioning, Liangjiang has become a global key destination for investors, tourists and talents.

As one of Liangjiang's core industrial areas, Longsheng possesses advantages like natural scenic views, cultural landscapes, and good education. Relying on Chongqing's opening-up policies, Longsheng is becoming a major area for intelligent city construction.

Shuitu Development Zone, a national innovation demonstration zone and national mass entrepreneurship and innovation demonstration base, has optimized its educational resource allocation to attract medical universities, and is striving to construct tourist attractions and medical care facilities.

Yuelai Exhibition City incorporates over 40 kilometers of Jialing River, and is also the new city center of future Liangjiang. With the construction of intelligent industries, Yuelai is expected to become one of the areas with the most investment value and most livable environment in West China.

Liangjiang's bonded port area has caught the attention of international investors with its global business circle, high-quality education resources, and China's first large scale tourism and commercial complex, the "Mall of China", which includes a 28,000 square meter indoor amusement park.
