China's tech giant Tencent is set to build its first industrial park applying Tbase (an advanced database management system it has developed) during the second stage of construction on its western China cloud computing center in Liangjiang New Area, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality.
The industrial park will be put into operation in 2022 to serve the computing power of over 200,000 servers in Tencent's western China cloud computing center. It will be the largest monolithic data center in West China.
The first stage of Tencent's western China cloud computing center went into operation in 2018. As the fourth self-established large scale data center cluster, it has become Tencent's key data and network center in Southwest China.
The cloud computing center has provided services to hundreds of domestic and internationally famous companies such as Changan Auto.
As the foundation of the big data industry, it strives to develop high performance capabilities in computing and cloud technology, which can support the intelligent transformation of Southwest China's traditional industries.
In addition, an industrial internet intelligent supercomputing center co-built by the Chongqing commission of economy and information technology, Liangjiang, Tencent and Changan Auto, has finished its initial stage.
In the future, Tencent will cooperate with related departments to co-build the first Tencent industrial cloud center in Southwest China.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
