Liangjiang New Area in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality signed an agreement with China Mobile's Chongqing branch, H3C Technologies Co and China Mobile IoT Co to co-build a 5G intelligent manufacturing demonstration project on July 22.
Yin Xianzhi, chairman of China Mobile's Chongqing branch, said that with H3C's comprehensive digital infrastructure capability and China Mobile IoT Co's internet of things service, the cooperation will boost Liangjiang's digital economy development.
The three companies will become Liangjiang's strategic partners and carry out in-depth cooperation in education, public security, medical treatment, smart city, smart industrial parks and smart factories.
They will carry out key technology research, research and development of innovative products and displays of innovative achievements in network reconfiguration core technologies, such as software defined networks, network functions virtualization and cloud platforms.
The companies will carry out marketing cooperation to promote H3C's security equipment and solutions, build joint labs of network openness, and explore and implement 5G pilot area construction and 5G application in vertical industries.
In addition, the three parties will implement intelligent projects to promote Liangjiang's high-quality development by cooperating on 5G technology, industrial internet and smart factories.
During the first half of 2020, Liangjiang has maintained double-digit growth in the digital economy, and achieved a 4.8 percent increase in GDP.
As intelligent manufacturing becomes a key point in industrial innovation, Liangjiang has enhanced the integration of big data, artificial intelligence and 5G in the manufacturing industry in recent years.
Liangjiang aims to help intelligent manufacturing develop new modes, methods and formats to create a digital transformation demonstration case for the manufacturing sector.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
