Co-hosted by Liangjiang New Area and Huawei Technologies Co, the Huawei Cloud Artificial Intelligence Developer Competition will kick off on Aug 5 in Liangjiang New Area, in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality.
The competition aims to become a communication platform for international digital economy talents and attract creative innovation teams, which can support the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing regional economic circle and further Liangjiang's opening-up.
All companies, universities, research institutes, entrepreneurial teams and individuals involved in AI technologies are welcome to sign up. The contest's winner will walk away with prize money totaling 120,000 yuan ($17,189.95).
The competition will focus on the latest achievements in intelligent medical treatment, intelligent transportation, intelligent communities and intelligent industrial parks.
Participants should submit original entries that can be displayed visually and involve the core technologies of AI.
One of the competition organizers, Huawei (Chongqing) Artificial Intelligence Innovation Center, launched in Liangjiang last year. Currently, the center is promoting the construction of four platforms focused on public service, enterprise cultivation, talent training and industrial ecosystems, as well as an AI demonstration area.
By integrating existing chip, software, terminal and cloud computing resources, Huawei's innovation center aims to help Chongqing become a major player in the digital economy industry. The center also aims to address Liangjiang's demand for AI development.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
