Southwest China's Chongqing municipality is a participant in the 2020 China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS), which runs from Sept 4 to 9 in Beijing.
Chongqing's exhibition area primarily showcases digital and cultural service products such as wearable equipment, robots, cosmetics and handicrafts, and has attracted visitors' interest.
One project from Chongqing Business Big Data Co was honored as a "demonstration case for development potential" at an exchange and award meeting held on the fair's first day. The company is the only one from Chongqing to win the award.
The winning project is an online financing platform launched in Chongqing's Liangjiang New Area last year.
The platform collects company information – ranging from registration details to credit and business status – to evaluate enterprises. It then shares the information with the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China's Chongqing branch to solve financing problems for small and micro-sized enterprises.
The online financing system was also honored by the Ministry of Commerce back in April for innovating and developing trade in services.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
