French high-tech group Dassault Systems co-established an intelligent manufacturing innovation center with Liangjiang New Area – located in Southwest China's municipality of Chongqing – which was put into operation on Oct 20.
Dassault Systems is the second largest software company in Europe and one of the leading companies in world's industrial software sector.
The innovation center is the first of its kind built by the company in China.
Currently, Dassault Systems provides services for 270,000 clients in over 140 countries.
A spokesman for the group said that based on Dassault Systems' 3DEXPERIENCE platform, the center will bring new collaborative work experience and connect the processes of product R&D, design, production, supplies and project management to boost the digitization of local companies.
After going into operation, the center will help Chongqing's innovative companies -- related to automobiles, intelligent equipment manufacturing, the industrial internet and automated equipment realize transformation and upgrading.
Currently, Liangjiang is grasping the opportunities brought about by the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle development, with broader aims to become an inland highland for China's opening-up.
To date, Liangjiang has attracted 158 Fortune 500 companies and 5,200 digital companies, as well as maintained two-digit growth in its digital economy, which occupies one fourth of the size of Chongqing's digital economy.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
