Chongqing Gangjiu Co, a port logistics company based in Chongqing's Liangjiang New Area, signed a cooperation agreement with China National Aviation Fuel Group Logistics Co on Oct 27.
The agreement is based on a previous one signed last year, which allows the Chinese aviation fuel company to buy some stock rights of – or cooperate with – Chongqing Chemical Terminal Co, a subsidiary of Chongqing Gangjiu Co.
According to the agreement, Chongqing Gangjiu Co and China National Aviation Fuel Group Logistics Co will make Chongqing Chemical Terminal Co's dock capable of handling hazardous chemicals.
Once upgraded, the dock will bring a stable supply of goods and revenue to Chongqing Chemical Terminal Co, which will help the company expand its business scale and improve profitability.
Chongqing Gangjiu Co will support the dock's construction to improve the transfer efficiency of aviation fuel, help China National Aviation Fuel Group Logistics Co complete its logistics system and build an efficient logistics channel.
The cooperation agreement will give full play to national- and regional-level State-owned companies' resources to guarantee the aviation fuel supply in Southwest China while assisting Chongqing's civil aviation industry and port logistics.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
