During the 10th China International Exhibition of Police Equipment, which is being held in Beijing from Nov 23 to 26, Southwest China's Chongqing exhibited a police helicopter and other police equipment, which caught the attention of visitors.
The Enstrom 480B police helicopter, made by Liangjiang-based Chongqing General Aviation Co (CGQA), can be used for anti-terrorism exercises, fighting criminals, emergency rescue, safety precautions and public service.
Established in 2011, CGQA has developed a comprehensive aviation industry chain that can undertake product R&D, manufacturing, aviation operation, pilot training, airport construction, maintenance services and low altitude flight service support.
Currently, CGQA's Enstrom 480B police helicopter occupies 10 percent of China's police helicopter market share, and it is used by police departments in Chongqing, Gansu, Yunnan and Guizhou.
CGQA will continue to learn from its experience in aviation industry development to improve the quality of police helicopters and other equipment.
Liangjiang has committed to developing the aviation industry in recent years. Liangjiang's aerospace industrial park has attracted projects involving aircraft engines, aviation materials, pilot training, satellite communication, commercial rockets and sci-tech innovation centers.
The industrial park has formed an aviation and aerospace industrial cluster. So far, it has introduced over 20 projects with an agreed investment of over 50 billion yuan.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
