Southwest China's Chongqing municipality recently released four measures to promote the upgrading and transformation of the city's business districts and accelerate the construction of an international consumption center.
The measures include improving the layout of Chongqing's business districts to meet different consumption needs.
Chongqing will upgrade its central business districts to increase international consumption and international influence on the economy. Meanwhile, Chongqing will give full play to the Cuntan area's location advantages, making it a center for global consumption, business and exchange.
Chongqing will also upgrade the development of traditional business districts, focusing on enriching consumption forms, improving the consumption experience and optimizing the consumption environment.
Also, Chongqing will accelerate the digitalization of business districts by promoting 5G technology and increasing wireless network coverage.
Chongqing will enhance the construction of intelligent commerce, transportation and service systems, build a public information platform to use big data technology to supervise the consumption situation and strengthen information security to make smart services safe and convenient for consumers.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
