Experts and representatives from governments and companies gathered on Jan 8 for a summit on medical technology in Liangjiang New Area, Southwest China's Chongqing municipality. The meeting explored the application of next-generation information communication technologies and intelligent technologies in medical treatment.
The summit invited 100 guests from the intelligent medical treatment field, and the event's online livestream attracted 1.5 million views.
The gathering saw the release of a report on Chongqing's development of intelligent medical treatment in 2020. The document highlighted that Chongqing had completed 44 intelligent hospitals and municipal-, district- and county-level information platforms and a data center for resident's health information.
The report also noted that 80 percent of Chongqing's primary and secondary hospitals offer reservation services for medical treatment and that the municipal medical imaging cloud platform has been completed and connected with 17 municipal hospitals.
Liangjiang is accelerating the development of intelligent medical services by establishing a health information platform, medical treatment management app and remote medical treatment system.
The area is improving the information systems of its two major hospitals and five community health service centers to promote information sharing and technology application. It is also adding vaccination management information into the systems.
John Edwards, the UK trade commissioner for China, praised Chongqing over its rise as a burgeoning center in intelligent manufacturing.
